I just read this blog post and started thinking about how Neil Diamond doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves as a songwriter these days. It seems like everyone's preoccupied with trying to be funny and/or ironic to really appreciate how awesome he is. These are some of my favorite Neil Diamond songs, with some of the greatest songwriting of all time.

Huzzah! Nice list. For all you non-converts -- watch these in earnest.
I'm pretty sure Holly Holy is my undisputed number 1, but from there it's a tough call (esp. Stones, I Am...I Said, and Be).
I'd add "If You Know What I Mean" and "Play Me" too.
